Some of you may have received a message from me recently. In it you may have learned that Im becoming increasingly tired and it is hard to stand for long periods of time. I have cut my hours down in the hopes that I can keep working for as long as i can.

My due date is July 14th. I was hoping to work until June 30th, but now that date is looking less likely. I am returning to work in September 2012. I am going to send out an email, as well post a note here, to let everyone know I am on my way back to work.

Please continue to use the online booking – I am getting great feedback from everyone. If you can’t find the link here (see online booking tab above) then go to the website www.clickbook.com and search for The Parlour Hair Shop. As well, if you can’t find the appt you want, send me an email, and I can set it up for you (ie longer appts – cuts with colours may be more challenging to find directly with online booking)

Thank you to everyone for your understanding and kind words. I am hoping that I am not gone long enough that you fall for another hair dresser this summer. Your hair, and making you look fantastic, is important to me. Each one of you puts a smile on my face and makes me love what I do each and every day. I hope to see you all before I go, and if I don’t, then I am crossing my fingers that I get to see you in September 2012.

Hello!

As you may already know, I am pregnant. I am due in the middle of July. Norman and I are both very excited about making our little family a little bigger.

One of the things I always wanted to do before having children was go on a big trip. And so, as close as it is to having kids, we are doing it! We are heading out on a “baby moon” for the month of April. We are heading down to the USA in an RV camper and are going to seek out many small towns and wondrous sights.

My last day of work is April 3 and I return to work May 1st. While I am away, please book appointments on my new online booking! (see other page for link).

Stay well!
Asha

Happy Holidays!

As the year comes to an end, completing the first year in my little shop, it makes me think about how fortunate I am. I love my job. And it’s because of you, my clients. Thank you for allowing me into your life, for teaching me so much, and for making going to work so enjoyable. Each day is different each conversation unique, and each client an opportunity to discover new beauty. One of my favorite parts of my job is the laughter – so much laughter.

I am blessed to love what I do, and to have the clientele I have. I am looking forward to continuing our journey together; to learning, laughing and making you look spectacular.

Happy new year!
Asha

As for the rest of the summer- I am going to taking a 2 week vacation in the okanagan on my favorite lake. I am leaving August 19 and returning to work Tuesday September 6th.

I am crossing all my fingers and toes that summer is here and that it brings all of you BBQ’s with friends and family, late evenings on the beach and all the outside time you can imagine.

The Parlour has been open now for 3 months to the day.

It has been such a treat to work in this space. I am getting better and better at maneuvering the space like a well oiled machine. I am getting lots of new faces in the shop. This makes a girl very happy to be able to show off the space to both the current well loved clients and the new clients making their first appearance. Getting to watch each person walk into the space and take it all in is definitely a highlight. Every few moments another item in the shop gets noticed, their faces light up in fascination. I love it. It is the reason I put it all in there. Be prepared for more conversation pieces! Recently, Craig brought me a painting – we have called him/her “Skyler”. So far we have decided he/she is German. But that’s as far as we have gotten.

The other new items in the shop include THE SIGN in the WINDOW! It was made from an old piece of wood out of a house being reno’d on the sunshine coast. And lovely Danika has helped me by designing it and making it happen. It looks pretty fantastic. And new business cards should be done by monday!

All in all, my little hair shop is almost complete. I love it. If you haven’t come in yet, I can’t wait till you do – and watch your face light up too.
